Repository review checklist: what to prepare
code-fix.dev ·
Prepare your repository, reproduction steps and access details for a free preliminary review, followed by a scoped consultation quote.
Prepare the repository and relevant version
Record the repository URL and affected branch or commit. Include a public application URL when available. Keep private repositories private; mention access restrictions in the request and agree on the necessary read access separately.
Describe one affected feature first
Write the expected outcome, actual result, reproduction steps and when it started. Prepare redacted error text if available. “Orders do not appear after payment” is more actionable than “everything is broken.”
Leave out unnecessary sensitive information
Do not submit API keys, raw .env files, database passwords, session cookies or customer records. Variable names and version information can describe an environment without its secrets. Agree on scope and duration before providing access.
Understand the free scope
Booking and preliminary repository analysis are free. The preliminary review identifies the current structure, possible causes and questions requiring further investigation, then determines the consultation or development scope. It does not promise a complete repair or exhaustive security audit for free.
Confirm the quote before scheduling
After preliminary analysis, you receive a scope and price. There is no automatic hourly charge. Once you agree to the quote, availability and the session format are coordinated. Include your contact email and preferred times when submitting the request.
